At CityRewinds and Drives, we take pride in delivering engineering excellence for our customers across all sectors. Recently, we completed a comprehensive overhaul project for a major energy provider specialising in the testing of power station components such as flow meters and valves.
The facility houses three 45 kW split-case Worthington Simpson pumps, each driven by a 45 kW Brook Crompton motor. The pumps were overdue for a periodical service, and operators had noticed vibration issues during operation. Our team was tasked with carrying out a full mechanical and electrical overhaul to restore performance, reliability and efficiency.

Each pump and motor was removed from the site individually and transported to our workshop for inspection and refurbishment. The pumps were fully dismantled and cleaned, and the cases were shot-blasted to remove corrosion and contaminants. During inspection, several worn and damaged components were identified, requiring precision engineering work.

Our skilled engineers:
The associated 45kW Brook Crompton motors underwent a complete overhaul, including:

Once all work was completed and the equipment tested, the pumps and motors were returned to the site, refitted, and laser-aligned by our engineers. Given the location of the installation, all work was carried out by personnel with the necessary confined space accreditation.
The result? Three fully overhauled, performance-optimised pump and motor sets, delivered on time and left running to the customer’s complete satisfaction.
This project reflects City Rewinds and Drives’ commitment to precision engineering, safety and customer service. Whether it’s pump refurbishment, motor rewinds, or on-site alignment, our team ensures every job meets the highest standards of reliability and quality.
